How You Should Be Preparing for Monday

For many people, Monday is the most dreaded day of the week. While no one likes to see the weekend end, it’s all about perspective and preparation. Walking into work on Monday with absolutely no direction will get your week off to a rough start, which can potentially carry on throughout the remainder of the week. What can you do to prepare for Monday and take the week by the horns?

Make a To-Do List

After a fun-filled weekend, you may have momentarily forgotten the tasks you have already completed and the ones that await you. Come Sunday night, take a few minutes and either write down or mentally review the tasks you need to tackle during the upcoming week. Are there any meetings or company functions? Already having an idea of what your workweek looks like before you step into the office on Monday is extremely helpful.

Meal Planning

Meal planning or prepping on Sunday can save you a great deal of time during the week. Either plan your meals and snacks for the week or take it a step further and prep them. Not only is this time saving, it also ensures you will eat well throughout the week, which does wonders for both your mental and physical health.

The Early Bird Gets the Worm – Plan Ahead

Do as much as you can Sunday night so you can get out the door easier Monday morning. For example:

    • Lay out your clothes
    • Make your lunch and have it in the refrigerator ready to grab as you walk out the door
    • Pack your work and gym bag
    • Prepare the coffee

Doing these simple tasks will make you more prepared and ready to take on the week ahead.

Freshen Your Home or Apartment

Catch up on laundry, do a little vacuuming or dusting, or mow the lawn on Sunday. This prevents starting a new workweek while still having things to do at home.

Don’t Forget About Yourself!

Most importantly, set aside time on Sunday evening for yourself! Whether it’s watching a movie, reading a book or simply enjoying the silence, take a moment to relax and clear your mind. This will give your brain a much-deserved break and help you mentally prepare for Monday!
