Forklift Driver Salaries in LA, Redlands, Riverside, and San Bernardino

Economic Workforce Development through the California Community Colleges recently reported that transportation and warehousing companies account for about 87,100 jobs, with an expected increase in jobs in these companies of 4,600. The greatest increase will occur in warehousing and storage, with freight trucking a close second.

While we can’t know an exact number for each firm, we did a little digging via Indeed.com to see what the going rate is for forklift drivers in four areas within or near our region: Los Angeles, Redlands, Riverside, and San Bernardino.

As of February 17, forklift drivers in Riverside earn about $21,000 a year, while drivers in Ontario earn $20,000 a year.

Drivers in Redlands, in contrast, earn an average salary of $19,000, while those drivers in Los Angeles earn $24,000.

What about material movers? Indeed.com reports that these workers receive a salary of $21,000 in Redlands, and $26,000 in Los Angeles. In Ontario they earn $21,000 and $23,000 in Riverside.

What is the going rate for stock clerks? Stock clerks in Los Angeles earn the most: $27,000, followed by stock clerks in Riverside ($24,000), Ontario ($22,000), followed by those who work in Redlands earning $21,000.

If your company is in Los Angeles, you’re paying your packers $23,000 a year. Packers in Ontario are earning $19,000, while those in Riverside are earning $20,000. Those who work in Redlands are earning $18,000.

Economic Workforce Development expects the number of warehousing and storage positions to have increased by 11 percent compared to the number of these types of jobs in 2012.
